It is with mixed emotions that I write to inform our friends that EPIC’s Program Manager, Taif Jany, will be leaving us at the end of this month to join a progressive advocacy group here in Washington, DC.

Taif came to us as an intern in 2013, and it was immediately clear that his talents and passion for making his native Iraq safe and prosperous again were needed full-time at EPIC. During his tenure, his energy helped found our lifesaving Soccer Salam program and the Iraq Security and Humanitarian Monitor (ISHM). He contributed to the production of our IRAQ MATTERS Podcast, compiled ISHM each week, raised thousands of dollars for our programs and, quite simply, made EPIC stronger in every possible way.

Although we will miss his invaluable contributions, we are thrilled to see Taif’s career advance into the policy arena. He will never be far from his friends at EPIC nor our mission of empowering youth for peace in Iraq.

While replacing him is impossible, his departure creates an opening we hope to soon fill with the most qualified candidate who shares Taif’s commitment to Iraq’s future.
