The Education for Peace in Iraq Center (EPIC) works one-on-one with young people in Iraq in order to carry out programs that deeply impact their lives, monitor the crisis on the ground and inform public policy, and enhance understanding of Iraq’s story so that we can share it with the world through our advocacy.
Impact lives directly through our programs – programs that assist vulnerable families, help children continue their education, and empower young people as a force for positive change.
Monitor the crisis on the ground to inform better public policy and more effective humanitarian assistance strategies to break the cycle of violence.
Enhance understanding through advocacy so that Iraq’s story can be shared and understood in the United States and around the world.
We further a positive lasting change by:
- Empowering Iraqi youth: fund, structure, and execute on-the-ground programs that allow young people to participate in the nation’s rebuilding process.
- Assisting Iraq’s most vulnerable populations through projects that deliver humanitarian emergency assistance.
- Advocating for policies that facilitate Iraq’s prospects for peace and democracy. This includes efforts to increase government accountability, strengthen civil society, and improve educational opportunities for current and future generations of Iraqis.
- Educating Americans through research and analysis of the most up-to-date developments in Iraq, lessons learned, and best practices in the fields of peace building, education, and youth development.
