I’m thrilled to report that our friend and colleague, Zack Bazzi, is on his way back to Iraqi Kurdistan!
This will be Zack’s third trip to further TentEd, an EPIC project to support the education of children displaced by war. Over the last year, we have funded school transportation, provided classroom supplies and library books, and rapidly responded to other unmet needs, benefiting hundreds of displaced children and educators.
I would like to cordially invite you to join us for a:
TentEd Encore Fundraising Happy Hour
Thursday, April 16th, 2015
6:00 – 8:00 pm
1205 U St NW, Washington, DC
(across the street from U St Metro Station)
To RSVP, visit our Facebook event page
or email Zack Bazzi at firstname.lastname@example.org
Tonight’s happy hour will include the debut of a new short video by award-winning journalist Romina Peñate about the hundreds of displaced children living in the courtyard of Mar Elia Church in Erbil. This past December, TentEd worked closely with Father Douglas of Mar Elia and equipped the children with educational resources, backpacks, recreational supplies, and more than 700 books for the camp’s library. You will not want to miss the video and the powerful testimony of Father Douglas.
Can’t join us on Thursday? You can also support this event with a donation and by sharing this invitation with your friends. Your contribution to the effort is much appreciated.
I hope you’ll join us in supporting the continuing success of TentEd.
